How You Can Be Involved

First of all, thank-you for visiting this website. We want our stories to be shared and simply taking the time to look around here encourages us that our collective voice is being heard.

Chapbook:

One of our goals is to continually publish chapbooks with our collective artwork. The books tend to be short, updated collections of poetry, stories, photographs, and visual art. We have the creative material to do this, but lack funding! If you are interested in ordering a copy of one of our chapbooks or interested in donating a monetary gift to go towards the publishing costs, please let us know by emailing us at: downtownstorycollective@gmail.com

Operating Costs:

As well as our chapbook projects, our collective faces other operating costs, especially printing (photos and written work) costs, that will allow us to showcase our art work (like our display at Origin Bakery). If you would like to make a donation please contact us directly by email.

Materials:

We are always on the look-out for art supplies. At the moment, we are especially looking for photography materials (old cameras, film donations, frames, etc.) and canvasses so that we can do more painting projects, as well as display our work creatively at Origin Bakery.

Guest Sessions:

Are you a writer or artist? Would you like to do a reading or share something about your own creative work? We love having guests in to speak to us and inspire us!

Volunteer:

We are always looking for volunteers! If you are free on Mondays from 6:30-8:30pm and would like to join us, please contact the Manager of Volunteers at Our Place by email (volunteermgr@ourplacesociety.com) or phone (250-388-7112 Ext. 243).
